This popular workshop focuses on the basic and most essential features of Photoshop with the needs of the photographer in mind. During the workshop, Maggie guides participants through the entire digital workflow process. We explore Photoshop’s Bridge, from organizing and managing images to applying keywords and adding copyright information. We process images in Adobe Camera Raw and examine the pros and cons of shooting in raw and JPEG file formats. We review the best techniques and shortcuts for image enhancing, retouching, color adjusting, black-and-white conversion, sharpening, and working with selections. Once participants have mastered the basics, we proceed to one of Photoshop’s most versatile, powerful, and creative features—layers. Understanding layers offers participants the ability to add depth to their photos, and explore endless possibilities. The workshop includes hands-on demonstrations, step-by-step instruction, practical photographic applications and evening lab hours. Using the printers in the Workshops’ state-of-the-art digital lab, we produce archival digital prints that rival the finest traditional methods. At the end of the workshop, participants leave with powerful tools to optimize their processing skills, imagery, and vision. INSTRUCTOR(S)
